Cookies and local storage

SAFE uses no advertising or analytics cookies and does not follow you across websites. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

What is stored, and why

• Your sign-in session, so you stay signed in until you sign out.
• Your preferences: text size, tabs, sorting, reminders, and similar choices.
• Lists that make the app quicker: recently used items, file names for the vault list (sealed with the device key in the app).
• In the app, an encrypted copy of your vaults to open them without a connection. You can turn it off in Settings, App.
• On the website, only if you choose it in Account, Locking: a key that keeps a vault open after the tab closes, for the time you set.

Strictly necessary

These are stored in your browser or the app (local storage, IndexedDB), not as cookies, and only serve the working of SAFE. They need no consent. Signing out or deleting the app removes them.

Other services

When you pay, Stripe's own page may set the cookies it needs to secure the payment.
